Originally from Batavia, Illinois, Jessica Davey (nee McFarland) began writing songs and performing them in 2003 while living in San Diego, California. She produced and performed two demo albums’ worth of material before moving to England in 2006 to study jazz and music composition at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. After graduating in 2009, she performed throughout England for several years and then became a piano vocalist on cruise ships in January 2015.
In August 2015, Jessica released “The Moment”, an album of songs largely about her experiences at sea. In addition to piano and vocals, Jessica also plays clarinet, saxophone and flute. Her music is an intriguing mix of jazz, bossa nova, and 1970s soft rock. Based in Glasgow, Scotland, she is currently performing in Osaka, Japan (until October 2017).
